As your current employer is not the direct client of your former emplyer, they may not have a good case to sue you. They will threaten you to get something out of the situation. So, don't hurry and consult an attorney or get more information from some educated source on this type of matters. By the way, don't tell him what you will do. Just find out what he is trying to do and act accordingly. If you tell him that you will complain to DOL, he will be prepared to face it. Good luck.

I,m July filer for I140/I485 and have not received my EAD yet so I visited local office and lady officer gave me Ticket number and ask me you can use this number to see the activity on my case regarding this latest request on the uscis website.
I have no clue where to put in this number...Anyone with suggestion or similar situation..

The HSMP looks very attractive if you don't know the details. Yes, you get a visa even without a job offer but they give you only one year to find a job. After 1 year in the UK you'd better have a job or you will most likely send you back to your home country (you go through a government review after 1 year). Of course, if you find a good job during that first year you should be OK.
The pro I see in this is that if you are patient and work for 5 years in the UK you will get your EU passport and yo now have mobility to other parts of Europe where the IT and other industries might be better (like Ireland)

If we're forced to see the glass half full, delayed 140 processing may actually be good for some people who are about to be laid off and whose 140 is on shaky grounds. It might just buy'em some more time to switch employers and figure out alternatives.

what you're describing is day trading but you will only catch the eye of the IRS ONLY if you're making $50K of above in profits or you're buying and selling $100K of shares in short period of time....in other words, any amt that is more than your salary.
buying and selling shares 10 times a day in small cash amounts will not be an issue. if you get audited IRS may only wonder if you're really working for your employer becoz you can't have that much time in your hands if you're really working a full time H1b job.
i have traded stocks for several years regularly in large amounts - singular trades sizing up to $20k. Though i've been fined by the IRS in the amt. $11K for not paying enough taxes on capital gains but have never been audited. ..touch wood.
i guess the bottom line is that if you're trading well below your salary level and are not making obscene profits disproportionate to your salary...you should be fine.

Is our fax campaign continuing or on hold for the time being?
We have learnt some lessons at the time of S1932. Our campaign was dead after HR4241 was passed and we were waiting for conference committe to be announced. This was the period when the campaign of NumbersUSA and FAIR actually peaked. They in fact advised members to stop faxes two days before the conference committee was announced. Their organizers knew how the conferences work and they finished work before the committee was formally announced.
Of course with QGA guiding us this time we are not going to repeat that mistake. Our campaigns should focus on senate and house separately & exactly when it is needed and must reach peak just at right time. With limited options available to us as 'aliens', actually meeting representitives or their staff should be the approach. One meeting is equal to ten faxes.

Does it mean that Indian companies do not encourage or support GC process as much as the American companies do? I sure hope that's not the case and employees of those Indian companies are getting a fare shot at the Greencard.

Others from the state who bagged top ranks include Madhu Kiran (fourth), K Satwik (sixth), Janardhan Reddy (seventh) Sabarish Nikhil (eighth) and Neeraj Gopal (ninth). An estimated 30% of the 50,000 students who wrote the examination from the state cleared the test this year, with over 500 of them making it to the top 2,000 in the open category. A total of 65,000 students had written the examination from the southern region.
Andhra students also scored well in the reserved category with OBC students from the state bagging seven out of the top 15 ranks in this section. Among reserved categories including SC, ST, OBC and physically handicapped (PH) the state secured over 50 ranks in the top 200 slab.
Officials from IIT-Madras, who were in charge of the results, said Andhra students already account for 21% of the total student strength in IITs. "One should not be surprised by the performance of these students as they have traditionally done well. This year, the percentage of students from the state in the IITs might be higher than 25%," said T S Natarajan, director, IIT-JEE.
While IIT-Madras, which conducted the examination, was criticized for the errors in mathematics and physics question papers, IIT experts said such errors could have actually worked in favour of the students from Andhra as not many would have been able to crack some of ambiguous questions. "Most front-rankers from the state cracked these ambiguous questions, which might have given them an edge over others," said K V Raghunath, vice-chairman, Narayana Group of Colleges whose students bagged five of the top seven ranks. Lets see how many of the so called toppers end up making a difference in the society, from personal experience i can tell AP education system is geared towards exams and its no wonder we see more and more toppers from AP, i personally dont like the education system in AP,

It all depends on the language in the Agreement that you signed. More over in some state doesn't consider these kind of agreements.
Tell him that you are going to complain to DOL if he threatens you. Even though he sues you, as the reason behind your H1 transfer is not getting paid in time, there are very good chances getting final verdict in your favor.
So don't worry.
Thanks for the advice. I also told him that i will complain to DOL and USCIS but no response from him he asked for compensation but i didn't agreed on it . Now, I am in process of complaining to DOL and they are saying that the case is in court so now i am searching for a lawyer in virginia.

I have a long layover at New Delhi airport. I am reaching their at 8PM and my next flight in the morning at 7:30AM. Is there any accommodation facility within airport? Or Do i need to go to city? This is the first time, i am going through delhi airport. Any helpful comments are welcome. Thanks and appreciate your help.
There are so called 'executive lounges' in Mumbai airport. There is a good possibility of having them in Delhi Airport also. Check while you are waiting. They have people all over hawking these services. They charge around 30 to 50 USD per person.
I tried one in Mumbai airport. I paid the money, went to the shower and didnt find hotwater. When I checked they said "it is out of order"..So much for the executive lounge! I took my money back and came out!

As we all know that priority dates became current in the latest visa bulletin. My lawyer made all my paper work ready and is about to file my paperwork with USCIS today. I am not sure if we can file the application a week before it actually becomes current.
I heard some people say that it's actually allowed to file 3 or 4 days before it becomes current. I also read reports that some people's application was rejected because it was sent too early. I am not sure what to believe here. Does anybody has any information on this?

If you get married before your GC is approved you're fine. You have something like 6 months grace period after your GC is aprroved to file for her I-485. It is better to keep all of her records ready so that you can file as soon as your PD becomes current.

One of my close friend and her husband both had Greencard. She delivered baby in India in 2002. They were not able to get their son to US. They tried visitors visa for the baby but the consulate rejected the visa. The baby is still in India with his grandparents. They filed for his greencard (family based). They are counting days to get their son to US. He is already 6 years old. It is very tough for the parents and kid. I am not sure about the other options that people has mentioned. But I see my friend family directly who are facing this problem. I don't think it is a good idea.
Parents must have made a trip to US without kid. The rule is very clear. It must be parents' first trip back to US with the kid.
